RE : PROMOTION POUCY. 

KINDLYrefer our earlier communications sent to you before and after notification of 
Promotion Policy demanding various improvements. Our last letter dated 21.06.2001 
on this has also not evoked any response. 

MANAGINGCouncil of CONFEDheld on 13.10.2007 has discussed this issue in detail 
and expressed serious reservations on methodology adopted for examination 
process and publication of results which dearly revealed manipulations of results. 

IN this context Managing Council of CONFED has decided to seek following 
amendments to PromotionPolicyto boost morale of Officerscommunityas also to 
restore credibilityof examinationprocess : 

1. Examination process to be with options on various lines 
2. Actual marks secured by individual Officer to be part of fin. 
. selection process. 
3. SBI has reviewed its written examination process and restricted it 
to certain scales only and the same can be tried in GIPSA 
Companies also (copy of SBI's approach paper enclosed). 
4. Review and Contingency Provisions to be brought back. 
S. Once an Officer passes in the written examination, he/she should 
not be subjected to write examination again. 
WE would request you to consider above points and bring in amendments to 
PromotionPolicysothatnextyear'spromotionprocessshallreducethe heartburns 
oflargenumberofOfficersandcallusfora meeting.
